“Humility and Humiliation are the same word.”
~ Mother Teresa
If I could choose one word to describe my childhood and young adulthood it would be “Humiliation.”
My life was a constant humiliation: Physical and emotional domestic abuse, we were Moonies, we were poor, we went to an alternative Education, not Public School…and I was and still am just a constant black tulip amidst a sea of the prettier colors…like a “black sheep” as it were…
But in the end I can be unfathomably grateful; because God, through it all showed me the power of HUMILITY. God said, “Your severe lifelong humiliation at the hands of others was not in vain,” it's true, I can experience the Power of Humility because of that suffering.
