What is "nutrient-dense" food?
Nutrient-dense food is just referring to food in its most unprocessed state. Eating food as much as possible that is fresh, bought with care, and prepared from scratch, is the basic structure of the nutrient-dense diet. Some links I have found helpful over the years:

Be sure to hydrate with water/electrolytes: Strive to have at least two quarts of water per day, with a little pinch of sea salt per quart to release electrolytes into the water.
Nettle Leaf Infusion:
This particular herb I have found to be very beneficial in the form of a strong tea or infusion for even acute symptoms of postpartum depression. It is very nutrient-dense and excellent for an additional boost in many different vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll as well as many other benefits.
I recommend the following:
Take two handfuls of dried nettle leaf and put it in the quart jar. Fill to the top with boiling water, cap, and let steep for at least three hours. Decant, add honey if desired and drink at least two cups a day.
As Needed Dosage, especially while symptoms are acute: One cup
Vitex Tincture
(Chaste Tree Berry)
This herb is a powerful hormone healer and balancer. It doesn't take much to help stabilize the stormy emotional weather, postpartum. I recommend it be taken in conjunction with a nutrient- dense diet. It is, like with most traditional medicine, much more effective when the body and mind are being attended to holistically.
Recommended dosage: Five drops a day taken in water or juice.
As needed dosage: Three drops every half hour as needed  Â
Good fats and oils:
Good fats and oils are absolutely vital to maintaining a healthy hormone system and especially female overall health. Sources of good fats and oils include:
Avocados, nuts, sesame oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, hemp seeds, flax seeds, dates (have three large dates daily).
Recommended dosage: Have at least four tablespoons of good fat and oil sources per day. You can find really yummy ways to to consume them, especially in smoothie form online.
Motherwort Tincture:
This herb specifically helps to support, protect and heal the blood systems and the womb area. Both are considered to be very tied in with grounding and emotional stability in traditional medicine.
Recommended dosage: Two droppers three times a day
As needed dosage: One dropper every hour
